The Malaysian Singapore Brunei Cultural Association or better known as the MSBCA was established on December 20th in 1976. It was incorporated as a non-profit (also non- sectarian and apolitical) organization under the Society Act of the Province of British Columbia. The Main objectives of MSBCA are:
1) To advance cordial relations and to promote unity and understanding between Malaysians, Singaporeans and Bruneians living in Canada, and other Canadians.
2) To offer programs and facilities for educational, cultural and athletic activities, including the establishment of a community centre for the use of members and visiting Malaysians, Singaporeans and Bruneians.
3) To assist Malaysians, Singaporeans and Bruneians in times of distress and emergencies, and to support worthwhile charitable undertakings in Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
4) To co-operate with international and inter-cultural groups in programs and actions designed for the enrichment of Canadian culture, and advancement of the concept of multi-culturism.
5) To preserve and maintain the cultural heritage of Malaysians, Singaporeans and Bruneians. Our First Event The first Chinese New Year Dinner and Dance was in 1977 with about 150 attendants at the Canyon Garden Restaurant in North Vancouver.
