                        FAREWELL PARTY
                        ===========

     "Life is a Party" and we members of MSBCA and well-wishers had a real one at the Farewell Dinner held at Continental Restaurant, Richmond on Wed 23rd June 10. It was in honour of the departure of Mr Haris Hadi - VP Tourism Malaysia - and his family who had just completed 4 years of active service in Vancouver, where much progress were made on the Malaysian Image present here and the increased number of tourists to Malaysia from Canada. With the presence of our Consul General Mr Hassan Bal and his wife together with about 40 who turned up, we have a lot of fun and laughter all around.

     After a welcoming remarks and a farewell speech by our beloved President Ms Violet Chan, a momento of a Plaque was presented to him in appreciation of the tremendous supports extended and the high level of participation in our events. Other gifts were also presented to his wife and children.

     Farewell songs of "Auld Lang Syne", "He is Jolly Good Fellow" and past favourites of Burong Kaka, Rasa Sayang, Bangawan Solo and others were also harmonously sung to the utter enjoyment of everyone.

     We all look forward to the same such support, commitment and participation from the new VP - Tourism Malaysia so that MSBCA can and will progress and expand further in the years to come.

     The party ended at about 10.30pm with some adjourned to the Dance floor next door at the Restaurant.

Malaysia Tourism Announce 2010 Mega Sale Carnival Starts 24 July

The 2010 Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival commences 24 July and runs through to 16 September 2010, offering Australian consultants the opportunity to up-sell Malaysia throughout the event and take advantage of great deals and incentives for their clients.
Shahrin Mokhtar, director Tourism Malaysia Sydney says the Mega Sale Carnival offers some of the world's best shopping and the perfect opportunity for agents to push Malaysia for extended stopovers or holidays.
"The Mega Sale Carnival is extremely popular and again promises to be a grand shopping fiesta. We expect it will drive sales to the region, giving agents another reason to sell the destination, whether it's for a stopover or a dedicated Malaysian holiday."
Lasting for almost eight weeks the Mega Sale Carnival is the country's biggest sales event bringing together a whole range of bargains on various merchandise, from home grown products, exclusive designer goods, exotic local handicrafts, funky fashion-wear, to the latest gadgets and tempting dining experiences.
Topping it all off, consultants can remind clients that many of the retail goods are also tax exempt or duty free.
"As a stopover destination Kuala Lumpur is the perfect choice for Australians and during the Mega Sale Carnival there are a range of great value packages available to ensure the trade can offer their clients the best deals," said Shahrin.

Classes are for MSBCA MEMBERS ONLY.
